Meet some of the pups who are preparing to make their race debut at the 2022 Pittsburgh Pet Walk. Their training includes chasing squirrels, playing fetch and going for long hikes in Frick Park. Some are even helping their owners train for the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon! No matter how ruff training gets, they can’t wait to get their paws on the start line on April 30.

Name:  Libby (full name: Leblebi, in Turkish it means chickpea)
Personality:  She enjoys taking naps and being lazy at home but always has energy to go outside.
Favorite things:  She loves chasing squirrels, stealing shoes, air sniffing, and going to the park.
Fun fact:  Libby enjoys being cheered on and receiving attention, which is a perfect reason to participate in the Pet Walk! 

Name:  Cooper
Personality:  He is sweet and spunky.
Favorite things: He enjoys playing tug of war, going for hikes in Frick park and wrestling with his bestie, a fellow friend’s pandemic puppy.
Fun fact:  Cooper's mom and both sisters (human species) are all participating in race weekend, and mom thought the third child should have a chance, too!


Name:  Leo
Personality:  He absolutely loves nature and playing fetch! He is a cuddly little boy who loves to play, especially with his younger cousin Thor! (also a dog )  Leo also loves to pose for pictures.
Favorite things:  He enjoys going for walks, digging in the snow, laying in the sun and playing fetch!
Fun fact:  His cousin Thor is also participating!  

Name:  Luna
Personality: She is an energetic and loving pup who loves to play with people and other pups!
Favorite things: She enjoys playing fetch, tug of war, going to puppy kindergarten, and, of course, begging for food!
Fun fact:  Luna signed up when her mom decided on a whim to run in the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon. 

Name:  Thor
Personality:  Everybody calls him Wiggles because when he sees someone he can’t control himself with excitement and just wiggles his backside so hard.
Favorite things:  He enjoys going for walks on the trail, playing fetch at the park, going for drives and sticking his head out the window, getting pup cups from Starbucks, and getting baths.
Fun fact:  Thor’s been helping his owner train for the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon.
