Road Closures

Come out and join the fun of race day! Getting around town on race weekend can be challenging, so we've provided information and maps to help you as you travel in and around the city. We look forward to seeing participants, volunteers and spectators fill our streets on race weekend.

Road Closures

Initial Downtown road closures will begin on Friday, May 3 starting at 12:00 p.m. on the Boulevard of the Allies between Wood Street and Stanwix Street. This section of the Boulevard of the Allies will remain closed through Sunday, May 5.

Saturday, May 4

Road closures for the UPMC Health Plan / UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K and Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon will begin at 7:15 a.m. and continue through 12:00 p.m. in the North Side and Downtown areas. 

Sunday, May 5

Road closures for the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon and FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay will start at 1:30 a.m. in the Downtown area and continue around the city through 2:30 p.m. Please note that streets will reopen on a rolling basis once they have been deemed cleared by city officials.
Certain sections of the city will be completely closed off to traffic on Sunday, May 5. Anyone in these sections of the city who will need to leave during the race should consider parking their car outside the area.
