2017 Half Marathon Kick-Off Training Run

Now is the time to start training for the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon. Jump-start your training with the annual Half Marathon Kick-off Training Run hosted by the Steel City Road Runners.

Date: Saturday, February 4, 2017
Location: UPMC Rooney Sports Complex - 3200 Water Street, Pittsburgh 
Distances: Half Marathoners: 3-5 and 7-10 mile loops will be available to accommodate all training plans. Various paces offered.

SCHEDULE:
7:00 AM - Check-in Begins
8:00 AM - Bobby Curtis,*  (2nd fastest American marathoner of 2016!)
8:15 AM - Dynamic Warm-Up with Dr. Vonda Wright
​8:30 AM - Run Begins

* Top American Long Distance Runner, Bobby Curtis, presented by the USATF Foundation & GNC, will be on-site to help answer training questions & consult with runners.

POST-RUN REFRESHMENTS:
Please note: bananas, Honey Stinger gels, NuGo bars, water, Gatorade, vitamin chews & hydration packs will be provided post-run.  

PARKING:
Please note, there is very limited parking at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. Additional parking can be found in any of the SouthSide Works surface parking lots or garages, with a short warm-up walk over to the facility. There will be signs and volunteers helping direct people. SouthSide Works parking information can be found here.
