P3R will celebrate a noteworthy milestone during the 2017 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon season: breaking the $10 million mark raised for charity. Each year the Pittsburgh Marathon Charity Program presented by Bank of America inspires runners to run for a greater good while raising funds for a cause close to their hearts. In 2017, charity runners are expected to raise more than $1.5 million - pushing the total raised since 2009 to well over the $10 million mark.
P3R is pleased to announce that Kids of STEEL is joining the 2017 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Charity Program. Funds raised through the charity program will provide Kids of STEEL/Project R.U.N. sites with support including on-site coaching, food tastings, running shoes, and free registrations and transportation to the Toyota Pittsburgh Kids Marathon.
P3R has announced that the Run for a Reason charity program presented by Bank of America raised more than $1.6 million during the 2016 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon season. Since the Run for a Reason charity program launched in 2009, participants have raised more than $9 million for local, national and global causes.
Bank of America will be the presenting sponsor of the Run for a Reason Charity Program at the 2016 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. More than 2,800 charity runners are expected to raise more than $1.5 million for the program this year.
P3R has announced that the Soarway Foundation, which provides humanitarian relief to the people of Nepal, will join the 2016 Run for a Reason Charity Program presented by Bank of America.
P3R has announced that it will renew its sponsorship of Team USA Minnesota, a post-collegiate distance training center focused on developing Olympians and national champions. The support of Team USA Minnesota is part of P3R’s American Development Program (ADP), an initiative to increase exposure and racing opportunities for American professional runners.

The 2015 Run for a Reason charity program will launch the next season of fundraising with an opportunity for participants to “play to give” and register before the public starting on September 22. Those that commit to charity early will receive a guaranteed race entry and have the opportunity to win gift cards, prize packs and much more during the week of September 22.
