(PITTSBURGH) - P3R announced street closures related to the 2017 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events, scheduled for May 5-7. The 9th edition of the race will feature more than 40,000 runners from 49 states and more than 20 countries.
Initial Downtown road closures will begin on Friday, May 5 starting at 12:00 p.m. on the Boulevard of the Allies between Wood Street and Stanwix Street. This section of the Boulevard of the Allies will remain closed through Sunday. For Saturday, May 6 events (Pittsburgh 5K and Kids Marathon), North Shore and Downtown road closures will start at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday and continue until 12:00 p.m. For Sunday, May 7 events (Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay), Downtown road closures will start at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 7 and continue around the city through 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7.

We also suggest checking our detailed map of Downtown before race day for anyone that will travel Downtown on race day. Please note, certain sections of the city will be completely closed off to traffic on race day. Anyone in these sections of the city that will need to leave during the race, should consider parking their car outside the area.
Please note: Media accreditation is required for admission to all DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events. News media who wish to apply for media accreditation for the 2017 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon will need to email your request to Kelsey Emch at Kelsey.Emch@P3R.org.
Race Weekend Kick-off Press Conference: The race weekend kick-off press conference is scheduled for Friday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the concourse outside of Hall B at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
