P3R proudly announced today that the Run for a Reason Charity Program presented by Bank of America raised a total of $1,408,217 during the 2018 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon fundraising season.
The 2018 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon celebrated its 10th anniversary by setting new records in participation and sustainability. The weekend of events, held May 4-6, also successfully hosted its first national championship race.
The Greek American community of Western Pennsylvania and its various organizations have recently recognized Kim Lambert with the Pheidippides Award for her significant contribution to the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. Significant contribution includes, but is not limited to, significant activities in the organization process, the continuous significant participation in and/or support of DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon events.
P3R, the organization behind the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, will present 12 companies and one individual with awards for their outstanding participation in the FedEx Ground Corporate Challenge program.
At the 10th DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon under overcast, damp conditions on Sunday morning, debutante Sydney Devore from Lakeland, FL and Fikadu Girma Teferi of Ethiopia won the 26.2 mile race in 2 hours, 32 minutes, 39 seconds and 2:13:47, respectively. In the UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon, Puerto Rican Antonio Cardona Rico and Morgan Camerlo of New Wilmington, PA took the titles in 1:08:44 and 1:22:39, respectively.
